It's the season of giving, and one Peninsula family found that out in a big way on Saturday.
Muavae and Marie Va'a, with their three children, drove away from Hi-Tech Collision in a newly-conditioned car, thanks to a large number of people with big hearts.
The family was chosen to receive the free vehicle through Sidney Rotary Club. Ken Podmore, Rotary president, said Hi Tech Collision owner Steve Weller, who with business partner Andrew Miller initiated the program here, called them to ask if they could find a deserving family to receive the gift. "We said 'of course'," Podmore said. After speaking to church groups and Beacon Community Services, Muavae Va'a's name came forward.
"Hearing about Muavae, we knew we had the right family," Podmore said.
